Why does my WhatsApp QR code say the number is invalid?

Nearly always a leading plus sign, a space, or a missing country code. The wa.me link format takes digits only — 447700900123 works, +44 7700 900123 does not. This tool strips formatting for you, but it cannot guess a country code you did not type.

Is this the same as the QR code in the WhatsApp app?

No, and the difference matters. WhatsApp's own code links a device to your account and must never be shared. This one is a public wa.me link that opens a chat with you — safe to print on a poster.

Does the person scanning need my number saved?

Can I change the number later?

How long can the pre-filled message be?
